I am an Eastside Youth Soccer Coach (EYSA) and EYSA board member. My dad was my coach and as I started watching my kids start to play soccer, I raised my hand to volunteer. It’s been an enjoyable journey and each day I learn something new about either the players as people or coaching.

I really had no idea what I was doing when starting out coaching. As an analytical person I started looking for resources. I looked for books, videos, and courses. I started looking for books that taught me about tactics, techniques, mental fortitude, and just about anything soccer related. One of the first books I found was “Let them Play”, this book helped me formalize a big part of my first team goal, Have Fun. It reminded me that the game had nothing to do with me, it was all about the players, and if they weren’t enjoying “the game” they wouldn’t build a passion that would drive them to keep playing throughout their lifetime.
I had another couple really good resources I’ll expand on later, including my C-Diploma Training.
